#1 Before coaching sessions, I was feeling overwhelmed with family tension, ongoing health issues, and felt like I was not prioritizing myself; it felt like I was snowballing out of control. I had refinanced my house, bought a new car, and started a new contract nursing job all around the same time.
Brenda made me aware of how I was not making time for myself, and it brought awareness of how I needed a reality check to prioritize myself. She also gave me tools and provided suggestions to accomplish my goals. She is an attentive listener, provided reflection during the conversation, and celebrated my success. I would recommend Brenda, as I see how beneficial coaching helps. – Christina G.
2) I really did not know what to expect from a nurse coach, but Brenda Lawson was warm and made me feel comfortable right from the start. Her easygoing manner relaxed me in return and I felt comfortable sharing my issues with her. When our sessions began, I was in a bit of a funk, stagnating and sort of “stuck” in the poor pitiful me phase you can fall into so easily when you are aging and alone.
With expertly worded suggestions and gentle guidance, I felt my old positivity return and I could see how much better off I am than most people. I was dependent on oxygen and my hair had fallen out, due to covid, but I was still able to regain my former confidence and a renewed sense of purpose. Looking inwardly at myself dispassionately was a unique exercise that I felt helpful. Brenda also gave me some ‘tips and tricks’ to relaxing and deep breathing that I believe has helped speed my physical recovery. I find I am eager for new life adventures that may be coming my way. – Paula H.
3) I was getting ready to go on vacation and moving, so I was going through a lot. I was also thinking about a career change and it was a bit scary to think about, but through her encouragement, she has helped me realize I can do it. She also helped me relax with the meditation exercises she did with me.
It was a pleasure working with her. She listened to what I said closely, and that is what I liked most. She helped me do an exercise where I could release anxiety from the past and anxiety of the future. I would recommend Brenda’s coaching to anyone who needs it. – Lisa P.
4) Before I started seeing Brenda my life was a chaotic mess. When starting my session, honestly, I had some doubts that I even had a need to balance my work with mind and body. Brenda opened my eyes to the issues I have needing to take time to slow down and regenerate my mind and rest. It is then, I was able to accomplish more in a work day, and have a more peaceful rest at night. Brenda gave me different ideas to try and I still use them today. I would recommend her coaching to anyone who feels like your life is too busy and frustrating to the point you just want to throw in the towel. I would recommend Brenda’s coaching to anyone who feels overwhelmed with life’s obstacles.
Thank you Brenda for your coaching! – Kim H.
5) Brenda is thoughtful and an empathetic listener. She has an ease about her that makes you feel comfortable being vulnerable and open in a conversation. – Ilene S.
6) Brenda did a fantastic job in presenting, scheduling, and time management of the sessions, and re-directing when I got too far off subject. You shared your personal life as it would relate, which made the sessions more trusting and vulnerably welcoming. Your attention and recall was helpful to remind and redirect our conversation and I feel REALLY good about what we covered and I am confident in your ability to help folks that are willing to be open and guided by your gentle and caring ways!! – Rhonda A.
